Pavlove finds the songs that trigger memories and turns them into personal playlists.
PAVLOVE finds music with a personal connection to the listener’s life and brings it together in a playlist. Our aim is to create moments of recognition, presence and connection, at home or in a care setting.
A familiar song. A shared moment.
A song can carry a connection to a person, a place or a moment in life.
We call these connections Personal Musical Memory Triggers. They are the starting point for PAVLOVE’s personalised playlists.
Identify music with a personal connection to the listener’s past.
Create a personalised playlist built around those musical connections.
Listen together and make space for whatever comes: a smile, a song, a conversation or a quiet shared moment. Each person’s response is different.
Research into music-based care for people living with dementia is encouraging, but its findings need care. A 2025 Cochrane review found that music-based therapeutic interventions probably improve depressive symptoms compared with usual care, and may improve social behaviour compared with other activities, at the end of treatment.
The review did not establish improved memory or lasting benefits. These findings concern music-based therapeutic interventions, not a clinical trial of PAVLOVE.
PAVLOVE’s aim is to support moments of presence and connection. It is not a treatment for dementia or a replacement for medical care.
Read the Cochrane review ↗It creates presence – they become part of life again, even if for a little while.
That is the experience we want to make possible: moments when music helps someone feel connected to their own life and to those around them.
Our mission is to help people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia find moments of recognition and connection through personally meaningful music.
The film Alive Inside helped inspire PAVLOVE. We remain committed to following research in music-based care, while keeping the individual at the heart of what we do.
These videos helped inspire our work. They show individual experiences with music, not evidence that everyone will respond in the same way or that PAVLOVE will produce the same results.
